20-year-old sentenced for rape
Thabani Buthelezi was convicted and sentenced to 15 years for having raped a 16-year-old victim who was three months pregnant at the time.

ANOTHER Mondlo rapist was brought to book by lady justice at the Nquthu regional court on Tuesday last week.
Thabani Buthelezi was convicted and sentenced to 15 years for having raped a 16-year-old victim who was three months pregnant at the time.
According to a report, the victim was walking in Mondlo when Buthelezi grabbed and dragged her into a nearby toilet where he held her at knife point, raped her and stole her cellphone.

The young woman managed to escape and reported the matter to the police.
Charges of rape and robbery were then opened at Mondlo police station and the docket was transferred to Vryheid Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for further investigation.
The KwaZulu-Natal Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa applauded the detectives who solved the case and went on to say that Buthelezi had shown that he did not deserve to stay within the community through this act.
