Final Assembly for Drakensview’s Foundation Phase

From grade one learners leading the assembly in prayer to the grade threes leading the singing, it was a festival of music and fun

Celebration was the theme of Drakensview Primary School’s Foundaton Phase Final Assembly last week.

The grade three group having fun to the song ‘Celebration’.

Balloons, party hats, colourful shakers and monsters were all there in the learner-led assembly.

From grade one learners leading the assembly in prayer to the grade threes leading the singing, it was a festival of music and fun.

Semuhle Mageza led the percussionists in a lively version of Santa Claus is coming to town.

Many of the grade threes were recognised by their teachers for their achievements in the classroom.

Special certificates were presented to the top Collect-a-Can contributors, a group of voracious readers, Readathon participants and GET Awards achievers.

Aleeza Patel and Sarah Busschers spoke about the school’s 60th anniversary.

Jordan Lepera received a certificate for raising nearly R5 000 in the school raffle.
