Drakensview Primary School held their senior prize giving last week. This was the day all the top academics and sportsmen were recognised for their efforts throughout the year.

Luyanda Nene picked up a multitude of prizes and was awarded second in grade seven. She is pictured with Principal Mr Coetzee.

Acting Principal, Mrs Naidoo, reported on the school’s many activities and achievements. It has been a busy and successful year.

Mr Coetzee, the Principal, who has been seriously ill during the third and fourth terms, kept his promise to attend the prize giving.

Shamiq Bhikraj received several subject prizes and narrowly beat Luyanda Nene to be awarded Dux of 2017. He is pictured with Principal Mr Coetzee.

He presented some of the special awards. Congratulations to everyone who received a certificate or trophy. Good luck to the grade sevens as they move on to the next phase of their education.
