Vehicles operating as taxis in Ladysmith will be impounded as of tomorrow

Factories will be opening soon and hundreds of thousands of workers will have to find alternate means of getting to work

As of tomorrow (January 4), all light motor vehicles, including bakkies, that are operating as taxis will be impounded and the owners/drivers will be arrested.

Public Safety, Operation Shanele (Public Transport Enforcement Services), SAPS and RTI will be out in full force.

Many people are feeling the pinch, as they have to make their own travel arrangements now that taxis are not available.

Over the festive period, hordes of people were seen walking to residential areas.
