Mondlo man stabs three people to get police attention
One man had been stabbed 7 times.
POLICE officers in Mondlo arrested a man who was allegedly on a ‘stabbing spree’ in the Block C area.
Sergeant BZ Zulu and Sergeant SP Sibiya are said to have been on patrol in Mondlo when they came across a man who was carrying an okapi knife with which he is said to have been terrorising members of the public.

By the time the police were able to arrest the man, he had already stabbed three people. One man had been stabbed 7 times (twice in the head, twice on his back, once on the shoulder, once in the chest and once in the stomach) and had to be rushed to Vryheid Hospital.
Two more people had suffered assaults to their faces with a bottle.

“He claimed to have been getting his revenge by hurting these people as he had opened an assault GBH case with the police but felt that nothing had been done so far. He said that the man he had hurt the most had cut him with a bush knife but the police had done nothing about it,” said Warrant Officer Jethro Khumalo.
The man was arrested for attempted murder and two counts of assault with the intention to do grievous bodily harm.
