Matric results: Improved pass rate for 2017 grade 12s

Excitement is exuding at local schools as grade 12 learners receive the statement of their National Senior Certificate examination marks.

The matric results were released last night with the Class of 2017 scoring a pass rate of 75.1 percent, which is a 2.6 percent improvement from the 2016 results.

In KwaZulu-Natal, the matric pass rate is 72.9 percent, an increase of 6.5 percent from the 2016 pass rate of 66.4 percent. KZN was also named by the Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga as the most improved province.
