A 23-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with attempted murder after he brutally attacked a man on January 4.

According to police reports, it is speculated that the victim was having a drink at the Indian Village in Kilbarchan, when the suspect accosted him.

“The suspect attacked the victim with a panga, seriously wounding him.”

The suspects will appear in the Newcastle Magistrate’s Court soon.
