ROBBIE Price of the Social Boat Angling Forum reported another 200m of net that was found in Klipfontein Dam and subsequently destroyed.
Mr Price said he was tipped off by fellow angler that nets were being used at the dam, but the culprits were gone when he got there.
“On another occasion, the men whose nets we had confiscated actually attempted to buy them back from us for R500,” said Mr Price.

“I want to remind fishermen that, according to South African law, netting is illegal unless you have a permit and you are a subsistent fisherman. These people appear to be commercial fishermen and this is not allowed. We are also seeing more professionally made nets that trap the fish when it gets in so that it is impossible to get out,” he continued.
