First day excitement at Drakensview Primary School

Excitement, a few nerves and delight were just a few emotions to be seen as the new Drakensview learners were welcomed into bright and colourful classrooms

First day at big school is a memorable occasion for the little ones and especially the parents.

Last Wednesday many proud parents walked with their children down the long corridor at Drakensview Primary School to their children’s new classrooms for 2018.

Excitement, a few nerves and delight were just a few emotions to be seen as the new Drakensview learners were welcomed into bright and colourful classrooms by their grade one educators.

Loyisa Mazibuko arrived with dad and mom. Dad was later observed wistfully looking through the classroom window at his precious child.

Within an hour most of these happy little learners displayed to the photographer how they could already read!

Mrs Blomerus’ class posed happily after they had read to the photographer.

And with such wonderful enthusiasm, the school life of the 2018 grade one intake begins.
