Vryheid Crime Intelligence officer takes second place at SA Awards

Sheila Khumalo proved that she is definitely a force to be reckoned with at this year’s National Service Excellence Awards.

THE LOCAL SAPS Crime Intelligence Department’s Sheila Khumalo proved that she is definitely a force to be reckoned with at this year’s National Service Excellence Awards.

Sergeant Khumalo was nominated for the Crime Intelligence Employee of the year award (nationally) and won second position.

This was an unbelievable achievement for this local officer who started out her policing career back in 2010.

“There is no other person working in the police department at home but I always had a passion for it, I just knew it was what I wanted to do,” said Sgt. Khumalo.

She has three lovely children, a 13-year old son and two-year old twin girls who she loves dearly and to whom she accredits her extremely hard work.

“Winning this award just made me feel so…important. It was just great to know that my hard work is being recognised,” she said happily.

Sgt Khumalo said that she is highly grateful to their POP members who have worked so well with the local crime intelligence.

“We have been achieving great results through them and we really acknowledge their efforts,” she said.

Overall, Sgt Khumalo said that she was just really happy to have bagged this award proving that she is the best in KZN at what she does.
