The new FNB mobile bank – customers urged to ‘please be patient’

Be prepared to wait a bit more longer than usual at the new FNB mobile bank located behind the municipal building. This mobile bank started operating on Saturday to help FNB customers while the FNB building on Victoria Street is undergoing renovations.

This mobile bank will operate until March 24 and the Victoria Street branch will open on March 29.The current operating hours are Monday- Thursday 9am-4pm, Friday 8.30am- 4 pm and Saturday 8.30am-12pm.

The Courier spoke with Lelani Geldenhuys, Operating Manager at FNB, who said that “the waiting period will be longer as we only have two tellers and three consultants. We are here due to the downsizing of the branch which will be smaller in capacity. We hope that our customers will bear with us until the renovations are done,” she continued.

We also spoke with one of the customers in the queue. Sifiso Sibiya. who commented that “I have been waiting here for over 30 minutes and it’s frustrating because as customers we were not told about this mobile bank, I went to the old branch and saw people renovating who then told me to come here. The bank should at least have communicated with us beforehand or put on notices about this new location for the mobile bank.”
