JUST IN: Local store speaks out on Listeriosis outbreak
Management assured customers that any Enterprise product could be brought into the store and a full refund will be awarded without a receipt.
The Enterprise brand has found itself at the centre of the Listeriosis outbreak.
This is since its Polokwane, Limpopo factory tested positive as one of the sources of the bacteria, which has killed around 180 people.
Management at Checkers Amajuba Mall spoke to the Newcastle Advertiser and explained the current situation at its store.

“We were instructed by Checkers Head Office to remove all Enterprise products from the shelves and deli department by 5pm yesterday.”
The products were then isolated and precautionary measures were put into place.
“We have thoroughly disinfected and sanitised our fridges and deli areas.”
Management assured customers that any Enterprise product could be brought to the store, and a full refund would be awarded without a receipt.
“Checkers will continue to offer the best products and ensure the safety of all its customers.”
