Female prayer warriors unite at the AFM Church

The Women's World Day of Prayer is a worldwide universal movement of Christian women who come together to observe a common day in prayer.

The AFM Church in Brickhill Road hosted the 2018 Women’s World Day of Prayer last Friday. The assembly invited various females from other churches to be a part of the prayer.

The Women’s World Day of Prayer is a worldwide universal movement of Christian women who come together to observe a common day in prayer. The theme is “All God’s Creation is Very Good” and the prayer also celebrated its 88th day of prayer in South Africa.

The theme was provided by the founders from the Republic of Suriname. The prayer is held yearly on the first Friday in March. Opening with a reading from Genesis, Mrs Pretorius from the AFM Church reminded the attendees that God created us in his image and that God holds us accountable for how we care for the environment and all living things.

Mrs Pretorius from the AFM Church gave a sermon.

Ladies from the NG Kerk, Harvestime Tabernacle, AFM Church and Cornerstone Full Gospel Assembly were present.

Everyone had the opportunity to participate in the service with either a prayer or a reading from the Bible.

Congregants enjoy praise and worship ahead of the sermon.

Some of the prayer points were – good stewards of God’s creation, solidarity, help to become advocates of a better country, and for the leadership of our town and country among others. The afternoon was enjoyed by all.
