PREVIEW: Fairleigh residents outraged as neighbourhood continues to deteriorate

How can the budget be exhausted if they haven’t spent a cent on Fairleigh?

Residents of Fairleigh are outraged once again, as the state of their neighbourhood seemed to be deteriorating by the day.

Allegations of municipal neglect did the rounds, as some residents claimed grass was regularly left uncut, their play park left damaged and the public swimming pool had not been in working order for months.

“This is not acceptable! Where is our tax money going to? We are neglected and we must just accept this, but this is not fair anymore!”

One resident in particular, who wished to remain anonymous out of fear of victimisation, claimed the Fairleigh play park had been left in disrepair for years, leaving children to play on damaged, broken and rusted equipment.

“This is dangerous man! Nobody helps provide medical assistance when our children are injured because of the equipment. Not only is the equipment damaged, but we have no fencing around the play park which also lured criminals to the vicinity,” he claimed.
