Aligning women with wellness techniques at Harvestime Tabernacle (Video included)

Don't allow your life to be controlled by your own limitations, it will hinder your growth

On Sunday afternoon a group of women gathered at Harvestime Tabernacle in Forderville, where they were empowered and taught how to prevent illness. Mrs Frank from Harvestime Tabernacle opened the gathering in prayer, thereafter everyone got ‘groovy’ during praise and worship.

Guest speaker, Dr Lalitha Badul was warmly welcomed and took to the stage. From a doctor, one may expect the same hypertension and diabetes talks, but Dr Badul took a very different approach. With attendees hanging onto each word, she began by thanking the church for the honour to present a talk and celebrate women.

“Sometimes we invite illness and disease, can you all agree? We need to motivate women and prevent the disease state,” Dr Badul stated.

She urged all present to begin celebrating womanhood, celebrate being a wife and a sister or grandmother. She went on to encourage attendees to adopt an attitude of “I am done waiting for the next person to do things, it’s time to rise and it starts with me, I am done feeling insecure.”

The women got amped up and began to agree.

“Self-love and compassion fails in us and that’s why we fail in life at times. Everything I want starts with me,” she shouted.

Dr Badul equipped her fellow sisters with five easy steps to prevent reaching a disease state:

1. Don’t let your life be controlled. We all have power; we just need to learn how to tap into it. Don’t live at the mercy of your situation and circumstances. Build and believe in yourself. Say ‘yes I can’. Don’t hold onto the past, you have no control over it and you will only be ruining your future. Don’t block the light of your future. Release the weight on your shoulders.

2. Don’t worry about other people’s opinions and judgement for you. People will always have an opinion. Change the direction of your life, don’t please anyone but yourself. We were born to be unique so shine bright.

3. Don’t allow your life to be controlled by your own limitations, it will hinder your growth. These can come in the form of internal enemies like greed, lust, pride…Imagine how beautiful you can be if you let that go. Life is a gift! We are all at the right place at the right time.

4. Don’t depend on other people, you will never be happy. Be content; be prepared for anything that could happen. Learn how to walk away from negative people and say ‘no thanks this is not for me’. Develop mental strength. You have to create your own happiness and not be controlled unconsciously by another person. Also learn to deal with pleasure and pain in the same vein, with balance.

5. Money! Money can do great things for you; it’s how you use it that can be the root to evil. Find your freedom in life. People only see the result and not the effort you put in for what you have. So you need to learn to project the end result. Build your self-esteem and confidence. Look in the mirror tell yourself: ‘I love you.’ Dare to be different and spur on during tough times.

In conclusion, she encouraged balance as it will help one become a winner. After wishing all well, she took a few general health questions.

Overall the five pointers seemed to be the key to leading a healthier, stronger, more vibrant life, tried and tested by Doc herself. “Ease” from the word disease is a positive word and that energy was urged to be part of everyone’s healthcare journey.

The afternoon was capped off with chit-chat over scrumptious eats and tea.

Change your mind. Change your words. Change your world. Change the world.
