Out-of-control trees and shrubs pose a danger to residents

This is not an isolated issue

Overgrown grass is a common issue, but trees that are growing out of control is something a bit different.

Trees and shrubs growing in the upper part of Phillip Frame Road in the Observation Hill area are now causing a road obstruction.

Residents are concerned that this is an accident waiting to happen, as motorists have no clear view if a car is coming around the corner.

“People used to come and trim the bushes and trees, but I have not seen anyone here to do that job in recent months. We are worried about accidents occurring, as it is difficult to see oncoming cars zooming around the corner,” said one concerned resident.

There are many areas that have similar problems regarding overgrown grass all around Ladysmith.

The municipality has yet to comment on the matter.
