Book worms at Glencoe Primary School

This annual event is always highly anticipated and well supported by our learners and teachers alike.

Last week on April 17 and 18, Glencoe Primary School was visited by Diskonto Books. This annual event is always highly anticipated and well supported by our learners and teachers alike. The event sees hundreds of books, both English and Afrikaans, on display and for sale. Our learners prove their love of reading as there were queues waiting to buy, with many going straight to their classes to read their newly acquired books, while teachers delighted themselves in the array of educational posters available in order to ‘spruce’ up their classrooms.
While GPS displayed their academic and love of learning strengths, so too did they display their strength in sport. Pamela Mtshali, Boitumelo Sibiya, Lusiwe Mbatha and Asenele Mlangeni were selected for the u/12 Endumeni Circuit for girls hockey, while Ntokozo Mzinyane and Londeka Mhlungu were selected for the u/13 Endumeni Circuit for girls hockey. Well done girls!
Glencoe Primary School would also like to formally welcome their new teacher and introduce him to our parents. Mr Fischer joins the school in the Intermediate Phase teaching grades 4 and grade 5.

Chantel Veveris was thrilled with the array of books she could choose from.
