Biggarsberg Primary School staff mourns the loss of their well-loved colleague, Lyndia Otto.
Ms Otto passed away on April 14 after a long and brave battle with cancer.
A memorial service in honour of Ms Otto was held at the school on April 19. Biggarsberg’s principal, Ms Burger and the deputy principal, Mrs du Plessis, paid tribute to Ms Otto’s long and exemplary career. Ms Otto’s never waning enthusiasm and zest for life were mentioned. She was involved in coaching hockey and long jump at the school; she was in charge of the school’s timetable and she was the SAOU representative at the school.
Ms Otto was a selfless person whose greatest happiness lay in serving others. Her colleagues will remember her as the computer fundi of the school who was always ready to assist others when they were in need of ‘technological’ guidance.
Ms Otto’s faith was the source from which she gained the strength to lead this exemplary and inspiring life. Her life is an example for all to follow and build on.
Biggarsberg will miss Ms Otto’s cheerful and inspiring presence sorely. May she rest in peace.
