Sarel Seëvier in Vryheid

Selected Umzinyathi netball players embarked on their journey to Durban where they competed in the KZN netball trials.

Die afgelope naweek het Sarel se skaak en sportspanne Vryheid Hoër aangepak vir hul jaarlikse liga wedstryde.
Van die netbal kinders het ook aan KZN proewe deelgeneem.
Hokkie: Die eerste hokkiespanmeisies het ‘n moeilike wedstryd gehad. Hulle het hard gespeel maar kon net nie die bal in die hok kry nie. Vryheid het deur hulle verdediging gebreek en het twee doele gekry. Die u/14 hokkiespan het 5-1 gewen en die tweede span het met 1-0 geseëvier.

Chess: On Saturday, May 5, Sarel Cilliers’s chess team played a match against Vryheid High School at Sarel Cilliers. Sarel Cilliers managed to win the match after a nail-biting game between Zipho and Sigcinokuhle. S Tooray, N Buthelezi, Z Buthelezi and M Mfondu won their games and N Mtshali drew his. The final score was 4.5 : 3.5 in Sarel’s favour.
Rugby: On Saturday, May 5, Vryheid High School came to the Lion’s Den to take on the mighty Blue Lions. The fixtures for the day proved to be hard fought battles as usual and on the day when anything could happen. The Never Surrender attitude of Sarel’s rugby lions showed and again produced scintillating performances producing a clean sweep. KZN Netball Trials: Selected Umzinyathi netball players embarked on their journey to Durban. They competed in the KZN netball trials. Sindiswa Masinga was selected as a reserve for the Sharks and Dolphins team.
The girls played exceptionally well, which the school is extremely proud of.
