Protest Update: Ladysmith still in a terrible mess

Angry workers overturned rubbish bins and emptied bin bags all over the place as they went on strike to demand higher wages

Many streets in the Ladysmith CBD have been left in a filthy mess as a result of the municipal strike that took place last week and continued on Monday this week.

The strike saw all main streets in the CBD being blocked off by Alfred Duma Local Municipality workers.

No reports of roads being blocked by protesters have been received this morning (May 16).
