Dumping is still taking place at the Plaza shopping centre in Lyell Street, creating an eyesore for business owners and shoppers alike.
Not only that, but one of our journalists received a phone call from a concerned resident stating that people are burning rubbish in the afternoons, which is creating even more of a mess in the area.
A large waste bin is situated at the Plaza, but the rubbish is so much that refuse lies everywhere, which is now creating a stink.
Mealie leaves are just thrown all over the place, not to mention all the other litter.

It is believed that the dumping was worse when the municipal strike was on.
“We really hope that this mess gets cleaned up, because we, as businessmen, don’t need to see and smell this dumping every day,” said a frustrated businessman.
