Overgrown grass on vacant land causes snake problems and house break-ins?

According to residents, this is a battle that has been going on for many months

Residents of Chandu Road in the Leonardsville area are complaining about a plot of vacant land with overgrown grass and where illegal dumping is also taking place.

Residents say that not only is this an eyesore, but snakes are slithering into residents’ yards and criminal activities are taking place, which they attribute to the state of the vacant land.

There have been many house break-ins in the area, and residents feel this is because criminals hide in the long grass and scope out their next victim.

Residents contacted IFP councillor Mrs Bhoobun to address the problems they are facing on a daily basis.

Mrs Bhoobun immediately took the matter up with the local municipality. However, until now, nothing has been done about the land.
