PREVIEW: The memory of Neville will forever live on

Following his sudden and tragic death, the family of the late Neville Pillay paid tribute to the man who was known and loved as a father, a brother and kindred spirit.

Neville lost his life after being run down by a motorist on Kirkland Street on the evening of May 3.

His sister, Asha Singh reminisced about the ‘good-old-days,’ and said she would always remember her brother as a loyal and kind person.

Neville and Asha grew up with their grandmother, who ensured they were cared for during their childhood. “My grandmother just adored Neville. One can actually say he was the apple of her eye.”

She said her brother was protective of her and their grandmother, as being the only man in the house, he found it his duty to step up and make sure their safety was always his priority.

As a child, Neville achieved great things, both academically, as well as in sports.
