Railway Street, according to one of its residents, has been in darkness for about four years.

This is due to street lights that have not been functioning. Despite repeated calls for assistance throughout the year, the residents are still grappling in the dark to have their pleas heard.

A resident from the street said that the darkness provides the perfect opportunity for criminals to hide out and commit their evil deeds.

He said that there has been an increase in theft from premises in the street and appeals to the local municipality to shed some light on the matter.
