Illegal dumping in Thompson Road is still a problem.
The pile of rubbish that is slowly growing and dominating the road is still there.
The Ladysmith Gazette recently ran an article about the illegal dumping, but there has been no change.

The dumping takes place near many businesses and has left the owners upset and disappointed.
“We run businesses and the dumping is making us look bad. We are losing money because many people would rather not come here anymore. I am outraged that nothing has changed and nothing has been done about the dumping,” a bushiness owner commented.
