Mayor Richard Mbatha’s bail hearing will resume today in the Estcourt Court.
Mayor Mbatha and two fellow accused appeared in court yesterday, however, the matter was not yet finalised when court adjourned at the end of day.
The Mayor, fellow IFP member, Estcourt Councillor, Mthembeni Majola and the alleged hitman, Xolani ‘Shorty’ Makhathini are charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit murder.
The matter has been declared a schedule 1 offence and the state is opposing bail.
