Avoid the Comrades traffic this weekend
Be aware of construction along the N3 route, and expect some traffic delays in the areas where lane restrictions apply

With the Comrades Marathon set to take place on Sunday (June 10) and traffic levels expected to soar, it is a good idea to plan your weekend so you don’t end up missing the action.
There are also alerts from N3 Toll Concession (N3TC) to motorists travelling to and from the annual Comrades Marathon in KwaZulu-Natal to be aware of construction along the N3 route, and to expect some traffic delays in the areas where lane restrictions apply.
Motorists are advised that speed limits in construction areas have been lowered. It is also important to note that no fuel stops are available along the N3 Toll Route between Van Reenen’s Pass and Estcourt.
There will be road closures due to the marathon: below are all the times of the closures, courtesy of N3TC.

Enjoy the Comrades, whether you watch it at home or along the road!
