Municipality is responding to needs with IDP road shows

The aim of the visit was to consult with the community and encourage them to participate in the affairs of the municipality

On May 23 the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality together with the Mayor Jabulile Mbele visited two wards within the municipality.

The aim of the visit was to consult with the community and encourage them to participate in the affairs of the municipality. One of two teams was in Ward nine at the Wembezi Multipurpose Center.

This team was led by the Mayor and the Director of Community Service Mrs Ndlela. They were accompanied by the councillor and other managers from different departments within the municipality.

The second team was in Ward 20 at the Weenen Town Hall and was led by Councillor SE Ndumo, and the Municipal Chief Financial Officer Mr Hadebe, they were also accompanied by the ward councillor and municipal team.

The Integrated Development Plan (IDP) road shows serve as a forum of engaging people and listening to the views of the community. The teams responded to the needs of the community and also mentioned the projects in the wards and explained the stages of progress of each.

They also engaged with the community and requested that they speak out about projects that they feel are necessary in order for it to be added to the 2018/2019 IDP budget.

On May 24 the teams visited Ntabamhlophe’s Ward 13 at the Madazane Hall. The team that was at Madazane Hall was led by Councillor Edith Lite, the Deputy Mayor, Mr Bhekithemba Dlamini and the Director of Public Works and Public Service, Mrs SR Njoko.
