Stinky sewage fills up Tugela Street in Colenso

Numerous complaints have been laid about the sewer problem, yet nothing has been done about it

Tugela Street in Colenso is covered with raw sewage.

Area resident Mr Malan says the street is “completely filled up with sewage and has now become a sewer swamp”.

The street leads towards the Tugela River and also a sewer pump station, yet no vehicles can drive there anymore due to the effluent.

Residents also say that sewage is flowing directly into the Tugela River and that the river is the source of water for residents living in the town.

Numerous complaints have been laid about the sewer problem, yet nothing has been done about it.

“We want our problems to be fixed and not to fall on deaf ears, as has happened over the years!”
