Update: Damaged cable to blame for power cut in Illing Road

Technicians have managed to restore power to the area, but they are still busy with repairs

Electricity has been restored in the Illing Road area.

The power went off just before 8.30am, forcing business owners to close their doors.

Alfred Duma Local Municipality technicians were deployed to investigate the cause of the power cut and it was discovered that a cable had been damaged.

The technicians have managed to restore power to the area, but are still busy repairing the damaged cable.

Some shop owners expressed their frustration at losing hours’ worth of business, while others were delighted that the municipality managed to get the electricity back on quickly.
