Muslim community to feed the less fortunate on Eid Day

At least 6000 people enjoy this meal

The Muslim community will be hosting its annual Eid meal distribution as the month of Ramadaan comes to an end. It has been eight years now that volunteers have been feeding the community of Ladysmith.

The end of Ramadaan is celebrated with the Eid feast and hence the Muslim community would like to help those less fortunate by providing them with a hot meal.

Eid is a joyous day of celebration – a day of giving and feasting – and in this spirit, the Muslim community of Ladysmith has not forgotten those in need.

“The last few years, we were overwhelmed by the response of both the givers and recipients,” said a member of the feeding scheme. At least 6000 people enjoy this meal.

“This year, we want to repeat our efforts and in this regard, a meal will be given to all those who come forward to our distribution points.” The meal distribution will be carried out on Eid morning (Friday or Saturday) – Insha Allah after Eid Namaaz.

These points are: Al-Islamia Centre (Smartiesville), Steadville Islamic Centre, Meena Place playground, Darul Quran Masjid, AK’s Hyper (parking lot), Limit Hill Community Centre, Dawah Centre and Soofie Habibya Mosque.

It is asked that people come early, as the distribution will be immediately after Eid Namaaz. Bring your own pots and utensils to collect your sumptuous meal.

May Almighty Allah bless this effort and bless both the givers and recipients. Remember that all are welcome at the meal distribution. No Sadqah or Zakaat funds are used.
