The following learners from Drakensberg Primary School made the school proud by competing and excelling in the following competitions:

KZN Athletics in Durban:

Congratulations to Xolani Hadebe, Christopher Cloete, Asanda Mavindla and Zaka Luvuno on their excellent performances at the KZN Athletics which was recently was held in Durban.

“We are also proud to say that Christopher Cloete received 2nd place in the under-11 shot put.”

NKZN JKA Karate:

Gunther Heydenrych was selected to represent the Northern KwaZulu Natal region for JKA karate which was held Pinetown on February 17, and received a 2nd place in his category.

Newcastle Swimming Club’s Elite Gala:

Handré du Preez participated in the Newcastle Swimming Club’s Elite Gala and received a gold medal and trophy for 50m freestyle, a gold medal and trophy for 100m backstroke, silver for 100m breaststroke and bronze for 50m fly.

Newcastle Raceway Club Championship:

Leanie van Rooyen participated in the Newcastle Raceway Club Championship and received 3rd place in the Go Carts Category.
