Illegal dumping is a problem in many areas of Ladysmith, with residents at their wits’ end and not knowing what to do to have this problem sorted out.
In Van Riebeeck Road, rubbish bags were recently dumped in a pile that was simply left to grow and people continued to dump their refuse on the growing pile.

However, it seems that a clean-up has since taken place and the majority of the rubbish has disappeared, with only a stray bin bag and a few other items of litter in the area.
“I’m glad to see the rubbish gone and I hope regulations are put in place to prevent further dumping,” a happy resident commented.
