Wasbank library’s new chapter for rural children

The day also focused on the importance of reading and getting children to love books," said Ms Hoosen.

School children from Wasbank learned last week why libraries are the heartbeat of a community, especially in rural areas where opportunities to learn are limited.
Monira Hoosen, Wasbank librarian, invited children from two schools to experience the magic world of the library and all that is offered.
The day was full of activities, goodies and gifts for the children. The aspirant artists in the group had the opportunity to increase their artistic skills and in that way earn a gift.
“This was a way of showing the children just how important libraries are in the community. The day also focused on the importance of reading and getting children to love books,” said Ms Hoosen.
She thanked the sponsors and all those who worked hard to make the day a success.
