Show Off Your Ride Car Show go back to its roots – on the streets
Gates open at 2pm, and entry to the show will cost R50 per person, and R30 for children under 13.
One of the largest and grandest motor shows in Northern KwaZulu-Natal, will be making its 12th appearance in Newcastle.
Hosted by Autobarn Parts People and Team Supersonic, the Show Off Your Ride Car Show is guaranteed to be bigger and better than before.
On August 4, the Department of Home Affairs parking lot will host Team Supersonic’s show and take it back to where it all started – on the streets.

This year, organisers aim to create a Fast and Furious type atmosphere, where participants and spectators can enjoy a night show, with a massive party to remember.
Gates open at 2pm, and entry to the show will cost R50 per person, and R30 for children under the age of 13.
What spectators can look forward to seeing at the show:
Former East Coast Radio DJ, Trevor Williams will be part of an impressive line-up of DJs putting on what is anticipated to be the biggest party Newcastle has ever seen.
DJ Lyle D is scheduled to be the emcee.
“Team Supersonic will be pulling out all the stops as Speed and Sound Magazine will be making a return to the show after six years.”
Maguires South Africa will also conduct the Show n Shine with a podium style judging.

A state of the art mobile car dynamometer will be available for motorists to test for the highest kilowatt output. Entries are limited.
Wait, there’s more!
A drift car burn out box will push the high powered turbo machines to their limits.
USACI will also conduct an official SA Record Car Sound Competition.
How low can you go?
A limbo challenge, one of the fastest growing car club competitions, will be hosted.
Vehicles will have to manoeuvre under a beam, and the one which passes the beam at the lowest point is the winner.

There will be food stalls, children’s entertainment, DJs, exhibitors, a car night glow and much more.
Entries to the Show n Shine close at 5.30pm, and entries to the car sound competition and mobile dyno close at 6.30pm.
“We urge competitors to come through early for the best parking spots. Convoys are expected from Johannesburg, Mpumalanga and Durban,” said organisers.
Body 5000 will also host an Obstacle Sprint Race, which is open to the public. Teams of four can participate – males, females or mixed teams are allowed.
The obstacle course includes challenges like tyre flips, box jumps, farmer’s log, tyre pulls, tyre dragging and kettle bells.
