GALLERY: Simmering soup served at Shepstone Place
In a cosy atmosphere, attendees queued to fill up their cups with scrumptious soup and partake in the homemade breads
From creamy butternut to hearty Dutch vegetable, the soup recipes were all enjoyed at the Soup Evening held on Saturday. A small crowd braved the chill to support the annual Shepstone Place fundraiser.

The evening was opened with prayer and thereafter Shepstone Place Chairlady Sheryl Lane warmly welcomed and thanked the attendees.

“Thank you all for coming, it is much appreciated,” she said.
In a cosy atmosphere, attendees queued to fill up their cups with scrumptious soup and partake in the homemade breads from the buffet.

Speaking to one of the long-time supporters, Debbie Dyer she said: “The soup evening has become a social outing for the entire family, we have all become family here.”

The evening was shared with family and friends, all with the aim of raising funds for the old aged home.
A whopping R5 765 was raised.

Mrs Lane also wanted to thank the public for their continuous support.

“It’s not just about fundraising; it’s also about creating awareness about Shepstone Place. “The support we get motivates us, as the committee, to do more.”

Mrs Lane went on to thank Eskort Limited for their generous contribution to the Soup Evening as well as all the women who helped cook the delicious soups.
