The road is devoured by widening damage and according to one resident, has been left neglected for a number of months.

The resident pointed out that this intersection is a busy one, with many people using this route from residential areas to town daily.

He fears that it has become a danger zone and in time, with persistent neglect, erosion will see it progress to an accident hotspot.

It seems as if the road had been dug up for water pipe repairs; a task that is handled by water service providers Uthukela District Municipality.

Repair to the road surface thereafter is the onus of the local municipality. However, like many roads in Estcourt, this intersection is one many dozens that lie in wait of much-needed repair.
