Friday – (August 31)

1. Ferrum High School Revue:

August 30 to September 1 – Ferrum High School is proud to present the Class of 2018 Revue and Gala Evening.
This prestigious event will take place at the school from 6pm to 9pm.
Tickets cost R120 per person on August 31 and September 1. Tickets can be purchased at the office.

2. Kom hou makietie saam met die NG Kerk Drakensberg Vallei:

Die NG Kerk Drakensberg Vallei bied op 31 Augustus hul Straat Makietie aan!
Die mark begin om 4nm op die kerkperseel (Baxter Laan 2, Pionierpark).
Die dag beloof om vetpret te wees met ‘n paar plaaslike sangers wat deur die dag gaan optree, saam met die immergewilde Clive Bruce en ander gaskunstenaars.
Die sangoptredes begin om 6nm op Drakensbergskool se sportvelde (1 Baxter Laan).
Kaartjies beloop teen R50 per persoon en is by die kerkkantoor beskikbaar – voorskoolsekinders kom gratis in.

Saturday – (September 1) – Spring Day

3. York Village Market Day – 8am to 3pm.

Pay them a visit on York Street and pick up bargains galore.

4. The annual Clivia Show has arrived in Newcastle

The Newcastle Clivia Interest Group will be hosting its annual Clivia Miniata Clivia Show on September 1 at Drakensberg Primary School from 10am to 3pm.
Entrance to the show is free and all Clivia loving enthusiasts are encouraged to attend. Guests will have the opportunity to view the beautiful plants as well as seek advice from renowned judges.
Drakensberg Primary School will also be hosting a beauty pageant on the day.

5. Newcastle Golf Club:

Engage in a round of golf at the Newcastle Golf Club this Spring Day.

6. Don’t miss the biker rally:

September 1 – Marilyn’s Lounge and O’B Bikers MC [Motorcycle Club] present a fun-filled family day, in support of local charities.
The day promises to be fuelled with loads of excitement and entertainment, coupled with motorcycle, vintage and modern vehicle exhibitions, plus children’s entertainment including a jumping castle and horse riding. This will take place at Marilyn’s Lounge, with Govender’s Home of Curries and Bunnies selling delicious traditional food.

10am – From Engen Garage to the Plant Guru in Lennoxton.
10.45am – From Marilyn’s Lounge to Dannhauser.

7. Calling Newcastle’s cutest babies

If you think your baby is the most adorable in all of Newcastle, fill in the entry form in the Newcastle Advertiser and stand a chance to win some great prizes. The competition is the first of its kind for Home Meah and all the proceeds will go to the home.
The deadline for entries has been extended until the end of September.
In addition, there’s a great opportunity to enter this weekend.
On August 31 and September 1, Jacques Breedt of Studio Elle Photography will set up a pop-up studio for entries at Newcastle Mall, and this will be at no charge.
All you have to do is pay the R100 competition entry fee!

8. Annual Newcastle Cansa Relay For Life (RFL)

At this annual event, cancer survivors and caregivers are honoured for their strength and courage.
Local entertainment, singers and dancers are welcome to perform at the event.

Sunday – (September 2)

9. Annual Maha Yagna Inder Pooja

The 18th annual Maha Yagna Pooja for rain, grain, health, peace, prosperity prayer will take place on September 2 at the corner of Dixon and St Thomas Street, Lennoxton.
The day will start with a peace walk at 7am, with the main prayer at 8am. Pooja will be carried out by the priest, who will also recite 1008 mantras. Entrance is free.

10. Swop over to the new Sassa card today! – Map included

Recipients of a South Africa Social Security Agency (Sassa) social grants have an opportunity to renew their Sassa cards at the Ward Three War Room (36 Asnika Crescent) in Suryaville. This will be conducted on September 2 from 8.30am onward.

Saturday – (September 15) – 8am to 4pm.

Sunday – (September 16) – 9am – 3pm.
