A 16-year-old lost his life

A 16-year-old lost his life on Saturday, despite attempts by emergency personnel to resuscitate him.

17 people, aged 15 to 28, were transported by ambulance services and private vehicles to Ladysmith Provincial Hospital, where two were admitted and the others treated before being sent home.

Parts of town, including Murchison Street and a park which is situated at one of the entrances to town, were left in a mess by revellers last weekend.

Teenagers were seen roaming along Murchison Street and causing chaos. It is believed that some of the teens walked into the street while cars were driving and threw bottles at each other.

Police made 32 arrests.
