One of the criteria for this competition was nominating a charity to which prize money would be donated.
“We chose Morester Child and Youth Care Centre as our choice of charity, as we are very aware of their day-to-day struggle to provide for the 48 children who are currently in their care,” said Schoeman.
On September 10, SuperSpar handed over the R50 000 cheque to Belinda Ellor, Morester’s networker.
“We at SuperSpar Crossings are community-driven, and we are confident the money will be put to good use and that it will bring a little Christmas in September to Morester.”

Ellor in return thanked Unilever and SuperSpar Crossings for the generous donation.
“I would also like to express my gratitude to Mari from SuperSpar, who chose us as their charity of choice. I can not begin to explain the joy I feel in my heart that Mari chose to donate the R50 000 to the children at Morester. No words can explain how appreciative we are. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” she concluded.
