PREVIEW: Connie is paving her own way to success
“Juggling motherhood and studies was very draining at times. Financial constraints also played a role in the difficulties, but somehow I managed to keep my head high and push through the hardships.”

Born and raised on a farm on the outskirts of Vryheid, 39-year-old Connie Xulu has become a pillar of strength in her community.

Her father sadly passed away when she was just eight months old, leaving Connie and her seven siblings in the care of her mother and her stepfather.
She said she had grown up in a loving home where family morals, mutual respect and good values were an important part of her life.
However, although her home life was enriching, Connie admitted her school years were difficult at times.
“I was regularly teased by one of my primary school teachers about my biological father’s past, but I ignored that and did not allow it to stop me from excelling at school.”
