The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) is on the frontline of the fight against the disease.
Every day, the organisation strives to find a cure and improve the lives of cancer patients, which makes projects like the Relay for Life and Shavathon critical to its cause.

Shavathon events takes place countrywide throughout the year.
Pick ‘n Pay Family Supermarket in Pioneer Park recently joined hands with CANSA to show its support for the organisation and make a difference in the lives of many Newcastillians affected by the disease.
Staff and management members even grew their hair over the past few months.

On Saturday, CANSA volunteers gave a dose of colour and shaved the heads of Pick ‘n Pay staff, a gesture meant to show solidarity among the organisation, the supermarket, cancer survivors and those who had lost the fight against cancer. Pick ‘n Pay also challenged other businesses to get involved.
