GALLERY: Remembering the good old days at Newcastle High School

Former learners travelled from across South Africa and abroad, some as far as from New Zealand.

Doug Larson once said: “Nostalgia is a file with which we remove the rough edges of the good old days.”

Recently, Newcastle High School’s (NHS) Class of 1973 held its 45-year reunion, and even after all the time gone by, the group of classmates proved that no amount of years could stand in the way of friendship.

Former learners travelled from across South Africa and abroad, some as far as from New Zealand.

While reminiscing around the braai fires, the matriculants of the Class of ’73 lost themselves in the nostalgia and memories from yesteryear, and were eager to meet again in a few years’ time.

Plans are already underway for a 50-year reunion in 2023.
