UPDATE: Wandering elderly woman safely reunited with family
With the help of the public and the resident, she has since been safely reunited with her family.
An elderly woman who was found wandering in Barry Hertzog Park (BHP) yesterday, (November 6) has been reunited with her family thanks to a concerned resident.
The resident who noticed the confused woman walking in the area yesterday afternoon, approached her and asked if she needed assistance.

“The elderly woman appeared confused and disorientated,” said the worried resident.
Newcastle police and medical services were contacted to assist the elderly woman and a public appeal was made to her family.
With the help of the public and the resident, she has since been safely reunited with her family.
