“Everything was donated to us so the community always comes through,” explains CEO of La Gratitude, Jomari Batista.

With coffee, cakes and other items on sale, visitors browsed the market stalls and enjoyed a number of music and dance items from La Gratitude staff, Yoselayd and Jose Columbie and the Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA).

Batista says BLIA is an ever present supporter of the home. After performing a number of dance items, the BLIA group – comprised of women all over the age of 60 – made a monetary donation to La Gratitude. Batista thanked BLIA and the community for ‘never turning them down’.
