A certain amount of calm has returned to the R103 close to Mimosadale where a service delivery protest broke out earlier today (January 24).

A witness on scene says that protestors have been dispersed but the R103 remains closed. There is a heavy police presence in the area.

Motorists using this route are being diverted at Estcourt Hospital.

However the N3 is open to traffic.

Debris from this morning’s service delivery protest is still littering the road. Proceed with caution.
