UPDATEAngry employees lock themselves inside factory premises, demanding their salaries

Angry workers are currently protesting at a factory in the Pieters Industrial Area.

It is alleged that the workers did not get paid, so they reacted by closing the gates at the premises and locking themselves inside.

Speaking to the factory employees, they told the Ladysmith Gazette that they did not get paid last week and were promised that they would receive their salaries today (February 18), which never happened.

Police and other officials are at the scene.
