Generous amounts of rainfall lashed across the area last week. In Weenen on Thursday afternoon, the streets and furrows were overflowing.

A resident from the area who submitted the photograph says that just after 3pm, the heavy rain came pouring down.
Road surfaces were submerged in water and so were gutters, yards and walkways.
