Dundee Hindu Temple prepares for auspicious prayers

All devotees wishing to carry kavady must prepare and decorate their own kavadies.

Ramayan week
Ram Naam is the essence of the four vedas. No power on earth can stand against his name. Ram is your friend, guide, saviour and Guru. It is He, who will be with you at all times and grant you peace and solace when you are distressed.
The Dundee Hindu Temple will be observing Ramayan week from Saturday, April 6 to Saturday, April 13, commencing at 6pm daily.
The Ramayan will be read and bhajans and kirtans will be rendered.
On Saturday, April 13, Ram Naumee will be celebrated from 8am, commencing with Ganesh Pooja, Ram Katha, reciting 1008 names of Lord Vishnu and concluding with aarthi at noon.
Katha and Jundha prayer and Tamil new year
On Sunday, April 14, commencing at 8am, Sri Hanuman Jundha and Sri Sathnarayan Katha will be done followed by the Tamil New Year celebration.
Sacred Raj Thilak: Pundit Amit will be ordained as a Brahmin and his Raj Thilak will be done.
Good Friday – mother’s prayer Chitrai Paravum Kavady and Shri Hanuman Jayanthi on Friday, April 19.
8am: Mother’s Prayer
1pm: Chitrai Paravum Kavady
5pm: Hanuman Jayanthi
