Long grass continues to thrive along Estcourt streets

Unkempt verges and long grass continue to take over the town and residential areas

Concerns are growing about the flourishing verges and long grass lining majority of the streets in Estcourt.

Sidewalks outside schools and public areas, recreational parks and central business district and residential streets are not spared as the grass growth continues to soar.

In some areas, grass cutting and verge trimming took place a year ago and it is quite evident.

Besides the unkempt image, the long grass often becomes a perfect hiding place for criminals and in Dovetree Road; residents spotted a snake slithering into the nearby bush.

It has been close to seven weeks since the Estcourt News enquired from Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality the plans for verge trimming.

Unfortunately this is another service delivery article that concludes with ‘no response was received.’
